Free Biblical Counseling - Connecting you to real people with real help found in Jesus
---------
Welcome to the Biblical Counseling Ministry of The Well Church in Moore, OK. We are grateful you are welcoming us into your life at this time. It is never easy to ask for help, so we admire the courage, faith, and humility this first step represents. We love to say, "It's okay to not be okay", and it's our hope you will experience that very freedom that the gospel brings throughout this process. It is our prayer that God will bless this step and use our time together to build hope and direction into your life.
Our goal upfront in the counseling ministry is to connect you to the life-transforming power of Jesus Christ. We are confident that through the Scriptures and the power of His Spirit, God has given us everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3-4). It is our joy to help real people with real problems, using the Bible.
Our vision is larger than a few one-on-one meetings with a counselor. Rarely does lasting change happen in isolation. As a part of counseling, we will encourage you to be involved in the life of our church in a variety of ways as we walk together. Our approach to counseling focuses on helping you identify how your beliefs, values, and desires express themselves in your emotions, relationships, decision making, and identity (Prov. 4:23; Matt. 6:21; Luke 6:45).
Our commitment as a church is to offer biblical counseling services to you for free. No matter your situation and struggles, we are confident that through the redemptive work of Jesus and connection to Him real change is possible.
Please know upfront that:
1) Your counseling will be based upon the Bible, in which the Scriptures are held as the final
authority in all matters.
2) Our counselors are not registered LPC's with the state. They have each voluntarily undergone
and completed training in biblical counseling courses and have been approved by our church
leadership.
3) All counseling is free of charge - there is no financial cost to you - because of the generosity
of our church members.
4) If you attend The Well, we ask that you belong to a gospel community and allow them to walk
through this counseling process with you.
5) If you do not belong to a church, we ask that you attend our Sunday gatherings at The Well
during the duration of your counseling. This is not an empty obligation or legalistic
requirement, but rather a belief that the best way to care for you is ultimately bigger and
more holistic than only 1 on 1 counseling.
6) If you belong to a church other than The Well, we ask that you seek counseling from them in
order to allow our resources to be free to serve those already in our church and those without
a church home at all.
7) You can reasonably expect the counseling process to last around 6-8 sessions,
depending upon the needs, meeting weekly or bi-weekly.
8) Counseling sessions typically last 60-90 minutes. Childcare is not provided.
The next step in the counseling process is to complete the intake form you are now reading. We have designed it to enable the counseling process to start smoothly and connect you with the resources that best fit your needs. The counseling form is designed to (1) help us to get to know you in a holistic and efficient manner and (2) help you organize your thoughts about your counseling objectives. Please allow 30 minutes to complete these forms.
After completion, our Counseling Coordinator will review them carefully and follow up as soon as possible to begin connecting you with a counselor. You will hear back very soon.
We are grateful to be able to serve you and look forward to walking with you.
