Connecting to Innovate, Inspire, and Impact: the Texas Library Association Annual Conference is coming to Austin in 2019! Are you available to help the 2019 TLA Local Arrangements Committee April 15-18, 2019 in Austin?

Volunteers should be willing to volunteer for a minimum of 2 consecutive hours. While librarians must be registered for the conference, paraprofessionals and support staff who are not registered for the conference will receive a complimentary exhibits-only pass with four hours of volunteer service.

Before the conference, you will receive additional information about your assignment(s) from the committee chair for the area(s) in which you will be volunteering. Check in at the volunteer booth at the registration area upon arrival.

Volunteer Area Descriptions:
- Authors Autographing --> Manage access to authors (e.g. organize people in lines within policies)
- Career Center (formerly Placement Center/Career Development Center) --> Assists with questions and inquiries.
- Connection Corner (formerly Internet Room) --> Assists with a range of technical issues and with personal devices and the mobile app.
- Disaster Relief Raffle Tickets --> Cover desk by selling tickets, handling cash box.
- Entertainment --> Assist with details for conference parties and entertainment before general sessions.
- Exhibits --> Cover desk by registering exhibitors & authors, answering questions, providing directions.
- Health Events (Fun Run, Yoga, etc.) --> Monitor events and provide assistance (e.g. setting up refreshments, monitoring routes, taking pictures, distributing awards, etc.)
- Hospitality --> Assists in distributing speakers gifts to program planners.
- Information --> Cover Information Desk in registration by answering phones & posting messages, distributing Fun Run packets, & managing Lost & Found.
- Innovation Lab --> Assist with setting up Innovation Lab maker tables, re-setting between sessions, and basic clean up and organization.
- Meeting Room Assistance --> Manage access by staffing volunteer stations, checking room set-ups, distributing signs, counting attendees, & solving problems.
- Social Media & Communications --> Help the Social Media & Communications committee spread the word about conference events, distribute promotional giveaways, and collect raffle names.
- Registration --> Cover desk by distributing badges & programs, greeting attendees, answering questions.
- TLA Store --> Assists with the replenishing merchandise, answering questions, tracking overall sales, and packing up inventory at the close of the conference.
- Transportation --> Manage access and provide information about the routes at hotels and destinations; staff outdoor table and provide directions upon request.
- Volunteer Check-in --> Assists with checking in conference volunteers.
