Expression of interest to volunteer with the CAFES Neighbourhood Canopy Regeneration Project
Hi there! CAFES has recently launched our 2021-2022 Neighbourhood Canopy Regeneration Project and we are looking for volunteers! This project aims to build the capacity of community associations in Ottawa to engage with their residents and to contribute to regenerating the urban tree canopy in their own community. We are currently working with eight community associations: Glebe, Queensway Terrace North, Blackburn Hamlet, Greater Avalon, Champlain Park, Old Ottawa East, Alta Vista, and Hintonburg. Along with the participating community associations, we are utilizing and promoting the existing City of Ottawa tree planting programs (e.g. Trees in Trust) for public spaces, and the Ecology Ottawa Tree Giveaway program for private spaces.

Note: you do not have to live in one of the participating communities to volunteer. Tree advocates from anywhere are welcome.
