Chaperone Orientation - Camp Outs
Each adult staying on site must complete the following Chaperone Orientation at least one (1) week prior to your event.
Working Together - Chaperones and the Ranch
Sleeping out at the Ranch is an important step toward achieving our mission to facilitate a feeling of being at home in/connected to an outdoor place. Chaperones play a key role in bringing security, familiarity and a feeling of safety to what some students' first outdoor sleeping experience!

Please take 15 minutes to read and digest your role as a Chaperone at Sienna Ranch. If you feel you are not quite ready to take on this role, contact your Event Organizer or give us a call at the Ranch (925) 283-6311 and we can help clarify any questions or concerns you have.

Who is your Event Planner / Lead Chaperone? *
We want to make sure you know who to ask if you have questions leading up to your event. This person makes activity selections for your group, approves the final schedule and handles the transportation, menu and other logistics leading up to the students' arrival at Sienna Ranch. They are an excellent resource to help you feel prepared for your group's camp out.
What distinguishes a Chaperone from a general parent/guardian? *
Chaperones are adults participants ages 18+ who actively supervise students during program, stay with the group during activities (unless preparing meals or tending the fire while the group hikes) and are permitted beyond the Family Dropoff zone during the event. Other Parents and Guardians, siblings, or family members who are non-participants remain in the Family Dropoff zone and do not have permission to explore the ranch property or participate in activities for the camp out group.
Who will I be working with during the camp out? *
Sienna Ranch will provide one, two or three Instructors to work with your group, depending on your group size. The Ranch Instructor will prepare the site before you arrive, lead your group in the activities outlines on your schedule from 4pm-9:30pm and then leaves for the evening. The Sienna Ranch Instructor will return at 7:30am the next day to continue programming and will help facilitate dismissal at 10:00am.
