At Climate Week NYC 2025, multiple organisations are coming together to present The Climate and Nature Studio - a dedicated hub for the fashion, textile, and apparel industry to connect, collaborate, and drive action for climate and nature. The Climate and Nature Studio will feature curated programming, dynamic sessions, and meaningful connection in a co-located space.
About the session: Catalysing Future Forward Factories
Future Forward Factories (FFF) is a catalytic initiative to decarbonise textile processing — one of the most emissions-intensive and capital-locked parts of fashion’s supply chain. FFF develops regional blueprints and real-world demonstrator facilities that bring together validated, interoperable technologies to enable near-net-zero production. The goal is to make clean manufacturing the default, affordable, and investable option for the industry.
In this session, we will challenge long-held assumptions around risk, responsibility, and the business model of the fashion industry.
Are long-term capacity reservations truly a no-go area for fashion brands? What can be done to address underlying concerns, and is there potential to unlock conditional commitments?
Philanthropy values catalytic capital that can drive market transformation. FFF aims to create demonstrator facilities that are investible, shovel-ready projects. What are the roadblocks to progress now?
Should corporate capital step up? Why should philanthropy bear the full burden of this transition?
We will conclude the session by identifying opportunity hotspots through crowdsourcing interests from the audience.
