Cal-TASH Conference Parent Scholarship
CalTASH is the California chapter of TASH, the international leader in disability advocacy. Founded in 1975, TASH advocates for human rights and inclusion for people with significant disabilities and support needs. TASH works to advance inclusive communities through advocacy, research, professional development, policy, and information and resources for parents, families and self advocates. CalTASH supports practices that promote our resolution that all people, regardless of their label or perceived level of disability, should have the supports they need to direct the course of their own lives, and to live and participate successfully in inclusive schools and communities.

This year, CalTASH is offering three Parent Leader Scholarships. These scholarships will cover the registration fees for our upcoming conference at the Riverfront Embassy Suites in Sacramento. We are looking for three parents of children or adults with disabilities who are: 1) committed to the values of inclusion, 2) are interested in attending our two day conference, 3) and are willing to bring what they learn back to their communities or parent groups to help spread our mission of inclusive communities for all. These scholarships are open to those in the greater Sacramento area who have never attended a Cal-TASH conference. We are looking for individuals with the capacity to share our message with others due to their roles within parent organizations, schools, or their community. Scholarship recipients may be asked to comment on their experience or talk to future scholarship recipients. Preference will be given to individuals who represent historically underserved communities or who are affiliated with community groups that do.

Scholarships will cover conference registration for both days, March 2nd and 3rd, which includes lunch on Friday and Saturday and an appetizer reception Friday evening.
