Enrollment Agreement

1. Markians are in a safe, nurturing, and comfortable environment. The student will remain in SMIS as long as the learner is not disruptive in our teaching-learning environment, including no bullying in any form. The school reserves the right to do any necessary means to ensure order and a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment.

1.a. SMIS has a strict ONSITE classes policy in accepting and retaining behaving students that do not interfere with the teaching-learning environment.

1.b.We reserve the right to impose a change of learning modes or program for a week, month, and the whole school year if necessary such as students who in any way constantly disrupt the ONSITE teaching and learning process.

1.c. If the school imposes a learning mode that the parent/guardian does not prefer or if the student is dismissed in school, the student may transfer to another school but cannot refund any and all paid SMIS school fees.

2. The School will decide and has complete discretion over each student's schedule. Your schedule depends on the school's discretion based on the allotted available time (majority of learners' preference), first reserve-enroll basis, and your preferred schedule.

Schedule changes may be made without prior notice if the need arises. The school has the right to suggest and/or make a student take a certain number of in-person and online classes per week. This is especially true if the student interferes with the teaching-learning process.

3. Communication of all school stakeholders (teachers, staff, guardians, students, parents, etc.) shall be through SMIS mail (@smis.edu.ph) ONLY. This ensures quality assurance monitoring. All communication aside from SMIS Mail (text, FB individual/group chats, and other communication sites/apps) is prohibited.

4. The parent may send a promissory note for a maximum (1) month payment extension.

5. If the payee did not fully pay an account balance on or before the student’s monthly payment due date, the school reserves the right without prior notice to:
bar the student from entering the School premises, disable learning, and school management system accounts, hold the release of student documents, remove from the roster of students

6. Guardians and parents must complete payment within a Quarter or School Year to ensure the student is allowed to take all types of Examinations, attending recognition, moving up, or graduation.

7. Grades will be shown in the SMIS portal if student has no pending balances for the current month.

8. Overlapping Penalty

8.1. There will be an overlapping penalty of (250.00) two hundred fifty pesos if payment is delayed at least a day after the payment due.

8.2. Suppose a monthly fee is still unpaid for more than one consecutive months. In that case, an additional penalty of (250.00) two hundred fifty pesos will overlap every after 30 days from a monthly tuition fee due date.

8.3. Each Markian shall choose only one learning mode per school day. There will also be a 250 pesos penalty for students who attend classes that are not covered by their program or those who attend both online and onsite classes per school day.

8.4. SMIS will include unpaid penalties in the remaining balance.

9. Tuition, miscellaneous, reservation, uniform, and all other school fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

9.1. All-in fees do not include privileged attendance such as field trips and onsite graduation. All-in fees cover the fees applicable to all Markians.

9.2. The school shall only apply one (1) scholarship and discount tuition fee deduction, whatever is higher. There will be no discounts' overlap or conjunction except for the referral.

9.3. All the discounts will be applied after downpayment.

9.4. Referral: The student referrer discount shall be applied if his/her name was indicated in the online enrollment form of the referee.

9.5. Academic discounts: If the student failed to retain the maintaining grade, the discount will be revoked and the original tuition fees will be applied from the failing to attain the maintaining grade date.

10. The school may add a 300 pesos (amount may change without prior notice) shadow teacher charge for each onsite school day for a student who in any way disrupts the teaching-learning environment.

11. The school is not liable for any loss of students' property. Guardians shall inform the school if there are any missing items within the school day.

12. The school shall not compensate and/or refund any fees if the guardian submits misleading/incorrect documents, mistakenly enrolls a student to a grade level, or any act in which the parent or enrollee has the full responsibility.

13. The 8 to 15 number of students per class reflects our actual number since 1995. The number of students per class may increase without prior notice.

14. All enrolled students and parents shall abide by all current and revised enrollment agreement, school handbook, directives, and policies for this School Year.

15. No appeals and rule exemptions shall be heard. This updated Enrollment Agreement bit.ly/smisagreement is final and executory.

By accomplishing this form. I hereby read, understood, and abide the Enrollment Agreement. I further acknowledge that there will be no exemptions to SMIS rules and policies.
