Thank you for your interest in volunteering in the NAFI Professional Develop Center (PDC).
The scenario-based training program uses basic aviation training devices to provide the opportunity to test risk management and decision-making skills in real life dual training scenarios. They will address situations in areas such as psychological, technical and physical reactions from the student-instructors. The participating CFI will provide dual training with a volunteer “student” briefed to spontaneously present with the randomized challenges. The flight will consist of a 20-minute session (5 minute brief, 12 minutes of flight, 3 minute debrief). You will pose as the student, participate in debriefing, and discuss the outcome of the various scenarios.
Volunteers needed for two-hour sessions in the morning from 10:00 am until noon, and three-hour sessions in the afternoon from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early for a brief overview and training session. While flights are for 20 minutes, allot 30 minutes for each to accommodate those that may go over. The program will occur each day from Monday, July 23rd through Saturday, July 29th. Volunteers receive a NAFI polo shirt and daily wrist band; a.m volunteers donuts; p.m. light lunch To volunteer, please complete the following application and list the days and times you are interested in participating.
Your point of contact to apply for the scenario-based program is Gus Putsche, NAFI Volunteer Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you again for volunteering.
