ALHAMDU | MUSLIM FUTURISM is an evolving art exhibition curated by MIPSTERZ that explores Muslim Futurism. Muslim Futurism is a cultural and artistic aesthetic that learns from the evolution of Afrofuturism, global resistance movements, and Islamic understandings of justice to imagine a Muslim future free from the oppression of today.
The ALHAMDU | MUSLIM FUTURISM exhibition will be opening at the Close House within Public Space One in partnership with the Center for Afrofuturist Studies in July 2024 in Iowa City, IA. The collection of work consists of original MIPSTERZ artwork and contributions from Muslim, Muslim-adjacent, and ally artists. We invite ALL artists local to Iowa City and surrounding areas in the Midwest to contribute to our growing archive of work under the umbrella of “Muslim Futurism.”
