Austell’s City Agriculture Plan was officially adopted in November 2024. A City Agriculture Plan is a set of policy and program recommendations for the city to build a vibrant and sustainable local food system over the next 3-5 years. It builds on residents’ priorities to suggest new city policies and community programs to increase community resources for accessing and growing local food. In alignment with a top recommendation from the plan, Food Well Alliance, Beyond Zero Waste, Compost Cowboys, and the City have partnered to develop a community composting program. This program is a 2-year pilot program funded through Food Well Alliance.
