​GAS was built for groups fighting oppression, and prioritises the groups that don't have access to other spaces. We are not a 'traditional venue' and have built our own collective values. Before booking to use our space:

Furniture: folding chairs, benches, tables
Suggested use: Meetings, presentations, meals

Yellow Tea Room: Capacity max 10 people,
Furniture: soft benches and counter space
Suggested use: Smaller meetings, meals, food prep

Library Mezzanine: Capacity max 15 people,
Furniture: desk, bean bags, white wall for projector
Suggested use: Reading groups, film screenings

Please note we are unlikely to accept events with a fee, that provide personal profit, or gigs (currently). We will accept fundraisers on a provisional basis, but would usually ask that a proportion of funds raised are assigned to help run the space. Please refer to our values statement in the description above.

GAS's Accountability & Safer Space Documents still being developed within the wider collective, so we are not currently able to offer any support with safer spaces policies. Can you confirm your organisation can use their own policies within the space?

GAS is free to use for grassroots groups. These groups always have priority in the space. Registered charities with funding, universities, arts organisations or other formal organisations are asked to make a donation towards running costs of GAS to support other users, as it costs over £1000 for rent and utilities. For funded group we suggest a donation between £50 and £100 for an evening event and between £100 - £200 for full day use. Which group do you fall under?

If the majority of your attendees are waged or have disposable income, we ask that you can make a small donation to our running costs to continue to provide free space for those with little to no income. We suggest between £2 - £5 per person.
