We are excited to announce the conference will take place Friday and Saturday, October 25-26, 2019, in Houston, TX at our new location, University of Houston, Clear Lake.
Community and professional development workshops will be held on both days of the conference. Attendees include transgender and gender diverse (gender is different than assumed at birth; TGD) people of all ages and their families, allies, professionals working with trans people and their families across education, medicine, law, mental health/counseling, religion/spirituality, child welfare, incarceration, and more. TGD youth under age 18 will have programming on Saturday only. You are welcome to select target audiences with the option to combine community and professional audiences for your workshop.
Gender Infinity aims to create affirming spaces and resources to empower TGD individuals while celebrating infinite gender possibilities. While many of the attendees will be coming to the conference for the first time, others have attended in previous years. Some attendees may have expertise in working with transgender, non-binary, genderqueer, and gender non-conforming people, while for others, the conference will represent their initial exploration of gender. Please plan for a wide range of audience member experiences as you develop your proposal.
Proposals must be submitted by MIDNIGHT CST on May 14, 2019. You will be contacted by the end of June to let you know if your workshop proposal has been accepted or to update you on its status. Conference registration will be waived for presenters.
Your contact information will only be used for the purposes of conference-related contact. Please email any questions to email@example.com.
This year, we have a particular interest in receiving proposals in the following areas: Dating 18+, Dating -18, Disordered Eating, Intersex, Intersectionality, Religion.
