4) Enhancing audiences’ experience through active programming
5) Introduction to stakeholder engagement

DATE: Tuesday, June 27, 2017

SCHEDULE:
Intro to Creating Connection (9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
An overview of the background, messaging, tools, and application. This core training is applicable for executive leadership, communication staff, and program leads.

(*Please be sure to bring a recent communication piece (such as ads, programs, social media posts, or annual letters) or something that you would like to practice applying the Creating Connection message frame to in a small group setting.)

Stakeholder Engagement Workshop (1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., including lunch)
A smaller, optional, hands-on training session for those who want to learn about how to authentically engage with more diverse stakeholders (specifically: millennials, people of color, women, and parents with young children). We will focus on how Creating Connection can help you integrate stakeholder engagement into your current programming and communication.

(*Note: It is recommended that if you have not attended the Intro to Creating Connection, that you attend the training at 9 a.m. as a prerequisite to the Stakeholder Engagement Workshop.)

BACKGROUND
Creating Connection is a national initiative with in-depth pilots in select states designed to advance the position of arts and culture as a recognized, valued, and expected part of our everyday lives. Based on a shared concern for declining engagement with arts and culture, Arts Midwest and Metropolitan Group joined together with leadership funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, working to strengthen the value of, support for, and active engagement with, arts and culture in our society.
