Volunteer Liability Waiver

In consideration of being permitted to volunteer and participate in the activities and events associated with the Bayside Run Festival (hereinafter referred to as “Fun Run”), I hereby acknowledge that I have read and hereby agree to be legally bound as follows:

  1. I understand that volunteering at an event of this nature involves potential risks and that I should not volunteer unless I am medically able. I agree to abide by any decisions of race officials about my ability to safely volunteer. I agree to follow the instructions outlined by race officials regarding my volunteer assignment.

  2. Assumption of Risk: I assume all risks associated with volunteering for this event including, but not limited to injuries from falls, contact with a runner, the potential for being struck by a vehicle, windblown or collapsing scaffolding, barricades and signage, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, high winds, lightning, and extreme cold, snow and ice, traffic and the conditions of the road, being transported in a race official’s vehicle, all such risks being known and appreciated by me.

  3. Waiver and Release: I, for myself, heirs, estate, assigns, and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release Sydney Run Carnivals, its officers, trustees, agents, employees, assigns, Fun Run volunteers, Fun Run sponsors, and all others assisting in the operations of the Fun Run and its supporting and related activities, together with their employees, contractors, subcontractors, directors, officers, agents, attorneys, and representatives (hereinafter collectively “Releasees”), from any and all losses, claims, demands, causes of action, liability, or costs of whatever nature arising out of, or in any way related to my volunteering or participation in the Fun Run events and operations, or in any related activity, even though such claim, loss, damage, injury, liability, or cost may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of Releasees.

  4. I grant permission to Releasees to use my name and images in any photographs, videos, publications or any other print, video graphic or electronic record of the Fun Run.

  5. If under age 18, I declare my parent/guardian agrees to be legally bound by the above by ticking the box below.
