All requests for access to the Texas 3-D Face Recognition Database must be must be made by filling out the form below. It is expected that access will be granted only to Project Managers and Principal Investigators of senior responsibility. Upon acceptance, instructions will be given to the User as to how to access the database.

Participant Agreement
Purpose
The Texas 3-D Face Recognition Database is a resource for serious researchers in the field of face recognition. The database was developed by Advanced Digital Imaging Research (ADIR), a Houston subsidiary of IRIS International, Inc. (hereafter IRIS). The database was developed with funding from the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). IRIS retains complete copyright ownership of the images of faces (range and color images). The LIVE Laboratory of The University of Texas has agreed to manage and make the database publicly available subject to the following restrictions.
Restrictions: User agrees to the following restrictions on use of image and data from the Texas 3-D Face Recognition
Database:
1. Usage: The Texas 3-D Face Recognition Database is intended for research purposes only and may not be used for any commercial purposes. The Texas 3-D Face Recognition Database is to be used only for research (development and testing) on algorithms for automated face recognition. The face images in the database must not be used in any way that could compromise the dignity of the human subject depicted in the image.
2. Commercialization: The User will not promote or sell any part of the contents of the Texas 3-D Face Recognition Database, or associate any phrase or logo with the contents of the Texas 3-D Face Recognition Database, either directly or indirectly. The Texas 3-D Face Recognition Database is distributed on a not-for-profit basis and the User agrees to make no for-profit use or commercialization of the database without the written permission of legal counsel from IRIS.
3. Duplication: The User is granted access to the database only for the purpose of their own internal research work. The User will not duplicate, share, publish, modify or copy the Texas 3-D Face Recognition Database in any way, even with other research or development groups within User’s organization or company. The User will not publish digital copies of any part of the Texas 3-D Face Recognition on any digital recording medium, on any Internet web site or ftp site, or by email, without consent from LIVE.
4. Citations: All manuscripts that are submitted for publication to any journal or conference or other venue, or that are posted on any Internet website or ftp site or sent by email, and that use images or contain images from the Texas 3-D Face Recognition Database, or that report on research results that made use of the images or data within the Texas 3-D Face Recognition Database, must make appropriate citation to the database. Any such publication may not contain more than 5 of the images in the face database. The form of the citation will be given by LIVE to the User upon LIVE’s acceptance of the User’s executed Participation Agreement. Further, all such publications must be sent in electronic format to LIVE at:

5. Indemnification: LIVE, IRIS and The University of Texas at Austin give no warranty as to the accuracy, identity, or verifiability of any of the images or data within the Texas 3-D Face Recognition Database. User agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless IRIS, LIVE, and The University of Texas at Austin and its Board of Trustees, officers, employees and agents, individually and collectively, from any and all losses, expenses, damages, demands and/or claims based upon any such injury or damage (real or alleged) and shall pay all damages, claims, judgments or expenses resulting from User’s use of the Texas 3-D Face Recognition Database.
The User must abide by the provisions of this Participant Agreement or permission to use the images and data will be revoked. The Texas 3-D Face Recognition Database will be made available to User via an Internet site revealed upon acceptance of the User. There will be no charge for data made available and downloaded via the Internet.
