Welcome to the 2026 Fairbanks Fungi Festival!

You do NOT need to be an expert. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome and appreciated, and are crucial to the success of the festival.

Volunteers are needed Saturday, Aug 29, to organize mushroom displays, and the day of the event Sunday, Aug 30, to help set-up, welcome people, guide parking, help at the kids craft stations or ID tables, and clean up.

Volunteers are provided with a discount on a t-shirt (while supplies last) or mushroom foray, as well as snacks on the day of the festival. Thank you for interest!

Saturday, August 29 (harvest in the morning, sort and set up display in the afternoon)

Sunday, August 30 (2 hour shifts between 9:30am-5 pm)

Select one or more Volunteer tasks that you are interested in. -

Gathering, sorting and/or arranging mushroom for the display table (Saturday) (4-6 volunteers needed)

Welcome table: Give out door prize tickets, sell T-shirts, and display event schedule (2 per shift)

Facilities: General site management, set-up or break-down (2-4 before/after festival, 1-2 during)

Children's Craft Tent (12-16 volunteers needed)

Identification Tables: Help sort, label and identify mushrooms (2-3 volunteers per shift)

Photographer for the event (1 volunteer needed)

Floater: Check on education tables and vendors, fill in if people need breaks. (1 volunteer per shift)

Safety: Are you first aid trained? Lend your skills! (1-2 per shift)

Parking usher (2 people at set-up: crucial!!)
