Hello! LifeSaveHer is a project started by a group of Harvard and MIT undergraduate students that serve our respective campuses as EMTs and CPR instructors. Our mission is to improve cardiac arrest outcomes for women by way of increasing gender equity in CPR training.

Please fill out this partnership form so that we can learn more about your training site and your capacity for involvement.

We are looking forward to working with your group to implement the LifeSaveHer in the CPR classes at your training site!

Research
One of LifeSaveHer's primary initiatives is conducting research on equitable CPR training.

We recently published a study in the Journal of Emergency Medical Services, which is the first to assess the impact of manikin breast adjuncts during CPR training.
New Research Study
LifeSaveHer is currently collaborating with several CPR training sites, including Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, and WashU.

If you are a university-affiliated CPR training site and would like to be involved in this study, please fill out the following questions.

Similar to our JEMS publication, we are assessing changes in reported trainee comfort in performing CPR on women, at a larger scale. This is also a survey-based study.

Given that we collect data from human participants, participation in this study requires approval of IRB exemption status. Since the study is survey-based, your institution's IRB should approve this study with "Exempt Status," meaning it does not need to undergo full IRB review.
Listing a faculty mentor will likely be required in your application for IRB exemption. Please specify a potential faculty mentor here if you have one:
The IRB approval process can take anywhere from a few weeks to months.
Funding

We recently launched a GoFundMe in order to bring the LifeSaveHer to CPR classes nationally.
Help spread our reach!
We are so excited to collaborate with you in our future research and expand the number of CPR classes that are being taught with female manikins. As for what you can do to help us right now,

  1. Support our funding efforts by sharing or backing our GoFundMe, or by reposting our latest Instagram post featuring the campaign on your social media!
  2. Follow our Instagram to stay updated about the project.
