Description of Playable Media Lab
Each station in the Playable Media Lab is equipped with the following items: PC Computer, Keyboard, Mouse, Headphones, Oculus Quest 2 VR Headset, Two VR Controllers, Microsoft Gamepad, and misc cables. This is a laboratory for CS courses focused on the development and study of digital games and other forms of playable media, such as virtual reality. CS121, CS221, CS321, and CS365 are currently taught in this lab, but other courses from other departments might visit this space.
Lab Policies
All users are NOT TO EXCEED 20 minutes of continuous time wearing the VR headset. After 20 minutes of wearing the headset, the user MUST take a minimum of a 5 minute break before wearing the headset for use again.

All equipment must be used safely within the space. Safe usage is defined as: no reckless movements around the VR Equipment Area, whether or not the user is wearing the VR headset, using the touch controllers, or any other interactive device; the user remaining aware of their surroundings the entire time they in the lab.

The user will return all pieces of equipment to its original location and the station to its original state before leaving the lab. This includes turning of the headset, carefully returning wires to the desk, and ensuring a clean work area. Lab equipment must not be removed from the room!

The user is PROHIBITED from bringing any food or drink items (except water) to the lab.

All equipment and anyone else within the Playable Media Lab are to be treated by students as under the Honor Code: with Honesty, Integrity, and Respect.

Any course-specific policies are to be followed in coordination with all lab policies.

LAB RESERVATIONS:

Please reserve time to work on lab computers in L140. Multiple courses use this space, so it is important to make these reservations in advance. Please cancel reservations ASAP if your plans to work in the lab change. If you are working in the lab without a reservation, another student with a reservation will have priority access to that station.

IMPORTANT: Each group shall not book more than three hours on a station per day! However, you are welcome to work more than three hours if another group does not have their time reserved. Frequent breaks are highly recommended :)

Please note that if a course has Drop In Hours during your reservation, a student who is a part of that course will have priority access to any station. You may still reserve and use a station if a student from that class is not using the station you reserved.

I understand and agree to adhere by the Lab Policies detailed above. *
