We will clean up the shoreline, slopes and park on the east bank of the Mississippi River, where Father Hennepin named St. Anthony Falls. Your guide:
• Cordelia Pierson, Mississippi River Parkway Commissioner, Marcy-Holmes Neighborhood Association board member and Minnesota Environmental Fund Executive Director, who will share exciting plans for the area, and stories about the great impact of caring for our bluff park
After helping out, we will visit an eagle nest – right in the heart of the city – and you can visit Water Power Park and a St. Anthony Main café.
• 9:00 - 9:20 - Sign-in, Introductions and Orientation • 9:20-11:45 - Service activities, interpretation, and refreshment – We will rotate between learning about the area, removing invasive plants, and cleaning up the natural area and Mississippi shoreline • 11:45-12:00 - Closing and thank you, followed by five-minute walk to view riverside eagle nest
