Notes: Rider must participate in entire parade route to be eligible for awards. Jr. Entries for non-riding groups are for average ages 14 and under. Jr. Entries for riding groups are up to age 17. This parade is CSHA sanctioned. Individuals and groups may be judged in one class only each day. Parade participants shall not consume any alcoholic beverages before or during the Parade. Entries received after judging commences at 8:00 AM. may not be judged that day. but will be allowed to ride. Judging and staging will be at 18th and Adeline Streets. • The parade will commence at 10:00 AM • Trophies will be awarded at 2:00 p.m.

I acknowledge that horseback riding is a sport which carries inherent risks of injury and damage to me, my horse and property. I knowingly assume all risks, whether known or unknown, of horseback riding. I hereby release the Oakland Black Cowboy Association. (Hereinafter referred to as OBCA), and the City of Oakland (hereinafter referred to as the City), and the County of Alameda, (Hereinafter referred to as the County), from all liability for any act of negligence or want of ordinary care on the part of OBCA, and/or the City and/or the County or any of its agents. In consideration of my participation in events organized or sponsored by I waive, release and discharge OBCA, the City, and the County, their directors, officers, agents and members, their representatives, heirs, executors and assigns from any and all claims of liability for injury or damage to myself, my animals or my property arising out of my participation. This agreement is binding upon my executors, heirs and assigns. I expressly waive any rights I may have under California Civil Code 1542, which states: "A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his favor at the time of executing the release, which if known by him might have materially affected his settlement with the debtor." I agree that I will indemnify and hold harmless OBCA, the City, and the County, their officers, directors, members and agents against all claims, demands, and causes of action, including court costs and actual attorney fees, arising from any proceeding or lawsuits brought by or prosecuted for my benefit, in which this release is upheld. OBCA, and/or the City, and/or the County, its agents or employees shall not be liable for any damage which may accrue from any cause or as a result of fire, theft, mining away, state of health, injury to person, horse or property. I acknowledge that the OBCA has spent three decades enlightening children and adults with the contributions of people of color in the settling of the West therefore; I understand that my personal conduct and behavior is very important. I also understand that because of the image and mandate of the organization I will refrain from any profanity. I will not possess any weapons of any kind, real or fake. I also understand that no alcoholic beverages are allowed and that consumption of alcohol prior to or during any event or parade will result in my immediate removal.

PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST COMPLETE THIS SECTION
I, the undersigned parent or guardian of the above participate, in consideration of the minor's participation in the event, agree that the terms and conditions of this Release of Liability/ Personal Conduct and Behavior specifically including but not limited to the indemnity set forth above, shall be binding as to damage or injury to my minor, any animals or property involved belonging to the minor arising out of his or her participation.
