Signature Lounge is looking for a talented and experienced Head Chef to join our team. We are located in the Industrial Area of Lusaka, so please ensure that you are residing within a suitable area for employment within this location.
As a key requirement for this role, the successful candidate must be Muslim, as the position involves overseeing the preparation of Halal cuisine and ensuring all kitchen operations adhere to Islamic dietary laws.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Menu Creation and Halal Compliance
- Oversee all daily kitchen activities, ensuring food quality, consistency, and a clean, organised work environment.
- Staff Management: Lead, train, and manage the kitchen team to maintain a positive and productive atmosphere.
- Inventory and Cost Control: Effectively manage inventory, ordering, and costs to meet budgetary requirements.
- Health and Safety: Ensure the entire kitchen staff follows all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards for every dish served, from taste to presentation.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role in a professional kitchen.
- Halal Knowledge: In-depth understanding and practical experience with Halal food preparation, including sourcing and certification.
- Culinary Skills: Strong culinary skills with a portfolio of creative and diverse menus.
- Leadership: Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Management: Proficiency in kitchen management, including inventory, budgeting, and cost control.
- Education: Culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Health and Safety: Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Faith: Must be a practicing Muslim.
