Jones Road Encuentro

Join us for this FREE event on December 2nd from 11:00am - 2:00pm.

Spanish for “Meeting”, an encuentro is a large community gathering. Join us for two presentations & a discussion with a panel of experts as we discuss the contamination related to the Jones Road Groundwater Plume Superfund Site.

Have you ever wondered WHY it is so difficult to get straight answers out of our government agencies? At our event on December 2nd, Dr. Stephen Lester will walk us through the truth and consequences of government agencies recognizing environmental hazards in our communities, and how low-level chemical exposure can impact our health.

In the communities around the Jones Rd Superfund Site, we’ve observed varying levels of chemicals in the air and water. Dr. Lance Hallberg from UTMB will present findings from our recent environmental study and we will host a panel discussion after Dr. Stephen Lester gives a meaningful keynote talk over lunch. In fact, Dr. Lester may know more about the EPA Superfund process than anyone in America. In 1978, Dr. Stephen Lester’s work on the Love Canal Toxic Waste Site led to the creation of the Superfund law.  THEA is honored to host this special event and we hope that you will join us.
