Ad Astra Academic Group Lead Application

Ad Astra exists at the St. Lawrence Center to form the students of KU to understand the faith so to integrate it into their lives. We are dedicated to providing formation to university students in the rich Catholic intellectual and moral tradition.

Those on team serve in leading a group organized by major, work as a pilgrimage intern, or intern as a lead for Ad Astra: LIVE our monthly seminar.

Academic Group Leaders are required to plan 2-3 events per academic year (2 in the fall, 1 in the spring or vice versa) for the group such as hosting a speaker, studying a related topic, the possibilities are endless. These events are designed to be for all students in related majors at the St. Lawrence Center and KU.


Requirements:

Monthly team meeting (date/time TBD)
Monthly 1:1 with Madison Abbott
Monthly mission formation (date/time TBD)
Planning and execution of 2-3 events 
Recruitment



Team members will receive a $500/semester scholarship

Group leaders must be able to engage new people—we want the group events to grow.  That doesn't mean you have to have a loud personality or be an extrovert.  Share both your strengths AND weaknesses in approaching others and building relationships. *
The goal of the group events is to integrate our faith and study into a cohesive whole. How do you understand your faith relating to your study and vice versa? *
While these groups operate out of the St. Lawrence Center, being a canonized saint is not a requirement of the position.  How would you describe where you're at with God/Catholicism/Christianity/Faith? *
