LA Fires Community Archive
Cal State LA's Perspectives student history journal is collecting community testimonials, memories, and photos related to the Eaton and Palisades fires of January 2025. We are creating a community archive to preserve the memories of the affected communities and of how the fires impacted people across Los Angeles.

Please feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you wish. You can also share photos, audio files, and videos by emailing them to lafiresarchive@gmail.com.

We are partnering with the Cal State LA Library's Special Collections and Archives to create a digital archive of this collection that will be accessible to the community. You can opt in to the Special Collections archive at the end of this form.

We'd appreciate your photos, videos, and audio!
Our archive will also include multimedia files recording community experiences of the fires. If you are willing to share images and videos of the fires or their aftermath, please email them to us at lafiresarchive@gmail.com. If possible, please include a brief explanation of what's happening in the photos or videos, when and where they were taken. Please include your name and location if you're comfortable sharing them. Anonymous submissions will also be accepted.

We also welcome audio testimonials speaking about your experiences of the fires.
We are pleased to offer the option of permanently storing your shared items within the LA Fires Archive at Cal State LA. If you choose to donate your materials, they will become a vital part of the library's archival collection, ensuring their preservation and accessibility for future research and community engagement. Should you wish to proceed, a member of the Special Collections and Archives staff will contact you with further details regarding the donation process. Please note that donating to an archive means that your materials will be preserved, cataloged, and made available for research.
