Team Member Expectations for weekly Practice:
ATTENDANCE – Dragon Boating is a team sport and teams are prohibited to practice on the river without meeting a minimum participants of captain/coach, tiller, and 14 paddlers on board. Therefore, your attendance is crucial to the team and should be treated with diligence. Pre-arranged absences at a reasonable length must be communicated to team captain. Too many no-call/no-shows may result in withdrawal from the race or team based on captain’s discretion.
RESPECT – Respect the sport; respect each other. We train and practice for many reasons – winning the race is only one of them. More importantly, we aim to cultivate a safe and fun team sport activity representing the Taiwanese community, while strengthening relationships and camaraderie with the community.
