Freshmen Orientation is a great way to learn about WWS! Freshmen are placed in groups of approximately 25 students with up to three sophomores, juniors, and seniors leading the group. Throughout the day, freshmen will participate in team building activities, attend workshops on getting involved, learn how to succeed in high school and have an opportunity to walk the building to find their classes. Dinner will be served. The night ends with a dance while the parents participate in a presentation given by WWS Administration.
Freshmen will receive their official Freshmen Orientation T-Shirt during the event that they will be wearing during the day. Appropriate casual school dress is required. Please wear comfortable, casual clothes and shoes as students will be walking around the building and participating in activities. Freshmen must arrive at the Main Entrance between 4:00-4:30. Doors will not open before 4 pm. They are expected to arrive on time and stay for the entire event. Entry to the event is prohibited after 4:30 pm. Parents must come into the school and sign their student out if they choose to leave early- no exceptions. Students must be picked up at the Main Entrance promptly at 8:15 pm.
Parents are invited to attend a Freshmen Parent Orientation from 6:30-8:00 pm in the auditorium. In this session, parents will learn what their student experienced during the Orientation as well as have an opportunity to listen to advice about helping students have a successful freshman year.
