General criteria:

• Projects should create a public space that is accessible and safe. Activities for your own community or group are great but you
should also make sure that people from across Tāmaki and visitors to Tāmaki feel welcome and included.
• Anything you build will need to be temporary or moveable. Because these sites are part of the wider development programme,
they will have a different purpose in the future. But through this project, we are hoping to learn about what’s needed in Tāmaki
long-term. Your short-term project will help shape our community’s future.

All applicants must:

• Have a connection to the Tāmaki community, or ideally, be living in the area.
• Be able to identify positive outcomes from the proposed project. We are looking for positive outcomes for the community and
the environment, delivered through projects that are creative and/or culturally relevant.

The application process:

• Applications close 10 May 2021
• Please email your application to shapethespace@tamakiregeneration.co.nz,
or drop it off at our Glen Innes office marked Attention: Shape the space, placemaking team.
• Proposals will be scored based on the answers to the application questions. The online application form includes the total
   points available per question.
• We will contact short-listed applicants for additional details. Responses will be further scored to make our selection.
• Results will be announced in June 2021.
• Selected projects may begin from July 2021, once agreements for use of the site and funding have been signed off.

Please note:

• TRC will award funds between projects and sites that best support our strategic outcomes. We may choose not to allocate all
available funds and/or we may choose not to allocate use of all four sites, at our sole discretion.
• TRC reserves the right to seek proposals from other parties in addition to those who respond to this invitation. Any other
proposals will be scored according to the same criteria detailed above.
• Any information provided to TRC will become subject to the Official Information Act 1982 and may be released by TRC under
that Act unless a withholding ground under that Act Applies. Any applicant should state in their application if the whole or any
part of the application is to be kept confidential.
