The Center for Legal Studies, Justice, and Society (Dejusticia, Colombia) and the Washington Office on Latin America, (WOLA, U.S.) are pleased to invite you to a presentation on the report entitled “Defending Human Rights in Venezuela: Challenges Facing Civil Society in Confronting the Closure of Democratic Spaces,” which will be held on Wednesday, April 7 at 12:00 PM EDT (11:00 a.m. in Bogota).

This report is the product of a thorough analysis of the obstacles that Venezuelan civil society organizations face, as well as their acts of resistance and resilience in defending human rights. Its goal is to amplify the voices of Venezuelan activists to the rest of the region, raise the visibility of the precarious situation that they face and the strategies adopted to advance the movement, and, as a result, offer a series of recommendations to other actors in the region that have within their agenda the support for the human rights movement in Venezuela.

El Centro de Estudios Derecho, Justicia y Sociedad, Dejusticia (Colombia) y la Oficina de Washington para Latinoamérica, WOLA (EEUU), nos complace invitarle a la presentación del informe “Defender los Derechos Humanos en Venezuela: Los retos de la sociedad civil para enfrentar el cierre del espacio democrático”, el cual tendrá lugar el miércoles 7 de abril a las 11:00 AM (Colombia), 12:00 PM (Venezuela y Washington DC).

Este informe es el resultado de un análisis de las barreras que enfrentan las organizaciones de la sociedad civil venezolana, pero también de sus acciones de resistencia y resiliencia para seguir defendiendo los derechos humanos. Surge con el fin de amplificar las voces de los y las activistas venezolanos hacia la región, visibilizar la precaria situación que padecen, las estrategias adoptadas para impulsar el movimiento y, como resultado, dar una serie de recomendaciones a otros actores de la región que tengan dentro de su agenda el apoyo al movimiento de derechos humanos en Venezuela.
