FUEL FOR THE WEEKEND PROGRAM - Member Registration
Dear Friend,

Thank you for your interest in the Fuel for the Weekend (FFTW) Program by Our Open Umbrella. The program provides weekend bags for students (or children aged 3 years and older) to help fill the gap between school lunch on Fridays and school breakfast on Mondays.

The weekend bags include items that are kid-friendly, easy to open and easy to prepare. Here is a list of the items included in each bag:

(1) shelf stable milk box
(1) juice box
(1) applesauce or fruit cup
(2) Nutrigrain or cereal bars
(1) pack of poptarts
(1) small box or cup of cereal
(1) soup (kid friendly)
(1) ramen
(1) cup or packet of mac & cheese
(5) individually wrapped snacks

*Allergy bags also available.

The Fuel for the Weekend Program also provides an alternative option for those who feel they don't need all items in the regular bag but would like some support. The FFTW Snack Bag includes:

(7) assorted snacks
(1) applesauce or fruit cup
(1) nutri-grain/cereal bar
(1) juice box

Fuel for the Weekend bags or Snack Bags will be delivered to your home via contactless delivery made by one of our volunteers. Bags will be delivered on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays or Saturday mornings. *Please note, for those on the YMCA food program, pickup on Wednesdays is also available.

If your family is in need of additional food assistance, we work closely with Lenore's Pantry and the YMCA Food Access Initiative. If you’re not familiar with Lenore's Pantry, the program provides food and other items, such as personal care items and household supplies once a month to its members. The Y Food Access Initiative provides free, pre-packed bags of food every Wednesday at the Elmwood Ave location from 1-2pm and 5-5:30pm. For those wishing to sign up with Lenore's or the Y, with your permission below, we will forward your information to both programs in the coming days. We can also provide the online sign up link for the Y program.

Once a month, OOU will provide toiletries and other personal care items to families, which can be requested using a Google form sent to your email. If you’d like to receive that Google form, please let us know below.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Our email is fuelfortheweekendprogram@gmail.com. Thank you.

Sincerely,

~The Fuel for the Weekend Team
