Water is a vital to our everyday lives. We drink it, we use it to clean ourselves and our homes, and overall we use it to survive. There are more than 600 MILLION PEOPLE that still do not have access to safe and clean drinking water! People have to walk for 6-8 hours with 45 pounds of unsanitary water to survive. They had no choice but to drink this water in order to live. We happen to have the luxury of water that they don't which we take for granted.
This year we have partnered with the Thirst Project to END this water crisis one step at a time. We will be having a Walk for Water where participants can gain knowledge on our global water crisis and get the chance to feel, first-hand, how hard it is to carry 45 pounds for a very long distance. The Thirst Project themselves will be coming down to this Walk for Water to talk more about their organization and what they do.
