We are conducting a cross-institutional study into the virtual events cultural institutions produced in 2020. This work attempts to determine if an event's attributes (such as day of the week, time, medium, audience, price, etc.) impact its attendance and other success indicators.
We are conducting a cross-institutional study into the virtual events cultural institutions produced in 2020. This work attempts to determine if an event's attributes (such as day of the week, time, medium, audience, price, etc.) impact its attendance and other success indicators.
We seek the participation of institutions that collected statistics about their virtual events in 2020. In exchange for their participation, institutions will receive a report at the end of the study. These findings will help you make informed choices supported by industry-wide data when formulating your museum's virtual event strategy.
This project grew out of the MCN Special Interest Groups for Strategy and Data & Insights. In addition to sharing results directly with the participants, we will provide insights back to the community through MCN. This study follows our previous research into museum website traffic patterns during the early months of the COVID lockdown, presented at the MCN (US) and MCG (UK) conferences.
