Anime Apocalypse 2016 Cosplay Contest Contestant Application

Only Attendees who have purchased admission to Anime Apocalypse 2016 will be allowed to compete in the Cosplay Contest.

IMPORTANT COSTUME INFORMATION:
ALL COSTUMES MAY BE HANDMADE OR STORE BOUGHT.

COSPLAY CHARACTERS CAN BE YOUR OWN ORIGINAL CHARACTERS OR POP CULTURE CHARACTERS. (Costumes must provide bodily coverage that is provided by a modest women’s or men’s bathing suit.) NO "REAL" WEAPONS ALLOWED. (SWORDS, KNIVES, GUNS, ETC.) ALL IMITATION FIREARMS MUST HAVE “ORANGE” TIPS. IF YOU ENTER THE PREMISES WITH A "REAL" WEAPON(S) YOU WILL BE ASKED TO STORE IT IN YOUR HOTEL ROOM OR VEHICLE. NO EXCEPTIONS.

THE ORGANIZERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY/DISPLAY OF ANY COSTUMES ENTERED INTO THE COMPETITION THAT THEY DEEM INAPPROPRIATE. THE ORGANIZERS ALSO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY ANY CONTESTANTS WITHIN REASON. ALL OF THE ORGANIZERS’ DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

    Cosplay Contest Rules and Regulations

    1. Upon registration, all contestants must provide all the necessary information outlined in the registration sheet. All contestants must provide a detailed description of their costume and the character. Including hours spent in construction, etc. 2. All contestants MUST be registered online prior to Jan 1st, and check in at the Anime Apocalypse Customer Service Desk between: 10am-6pm on Friday January 22nd and 10am - 1pm on Saturday January 23rd to be considered eligible for participation. You will sign up for a prejudging time slot on Saturday January 23rd at check in. 3. All props must be presented to staff at the Cosplay Contest Check in at the Anime Apocalypse Customer Service Desk upon contestant check in for the contest. Failure to present your weapons – even seemingly harmless ones – may result in your entry being removed and you may even be escorted from the premises. 4. Dangerous articles such as metallic weaponry (swords, knives, etc.), firearms, and pyrotechnics of ANY kind that may cause damage to the venue or harm to fellow cosplayers and/or event staff and attendees are strictly NOT allowed as props for the Cosplay Contest. Any articles made from any other material such as cardboard, PVC, Styrofoam, etc. are allowed to be used as props. 5. The Organizers reserve the right to adjust the rules of this competition in any way it sees fit and disqualify any entry for non-compliance with the rules and regulations outlined. 6. By entering the competition, the participant agrees to abide by all the terms and conditions that are listed. Participants who do not follow these rules will be disqualified. 7. Permission is granted to the Organizers to use the costumes photographed/filmed during the contest for future promotions. 8. The Organizers reserve the right to refuse entry/display of any costumes entered into the competition that they deem inappropriate. The Organizers also reserve the right to disqualify any contestants within reason. All of the Organizers’ decisions are final.
