Have you already deposited your raw (spectral/analytical) data in open access repositories along with your publications?
*
yes
no
If your answer is yes, where did you upload your raw data? (Chose/fill all that apply)
*
MassIVe
nmrXiv
NP-MRD
ZENODO
Harvard Dataverse
An institutional repository
I answered NO to the previous question
Other:

If your answer is no, why?
(Chose/fill all that apply)
*
I did not have any publication requiring data sharing
It was not mandatory for publication
It takes too much extra effort
I am unsure how to properly share my data
Available repositories are not sufficiently developed
I answered YES to the previous question

How would you rate the importance of raw (NMR, MS and other analytical) data sharing in NP research?
*
not necessary/ important
1
2
3
4
5
essential to my research
What do you expect from Raw Data Sharing in NP Chemistry? (Chose/fill all that apply)
*
Fulfilling new Open Access mandates from funding agencies
Improving rapid dereplication
Acknowledgments when colleagues use the data I deposited
Visibility of my data sharing efforts
Very little
More extra work with little benefit
A gain in scientific capability and knowledge
More unnecessary administrative effort

What do you think is needed to foster Raw Data Sharing in NP Chemistry? (Chose/fill all that apply)
*
Clear Guidelines on how to prepare the data and where to deposit them
Interoperability between repositories
One centralized repository dedicated to natural products
Possibilities to automatically interrogate data in repositories for dereplication
Other:
Required
How would you welcome a new journal or other outlet dedicated only to the structural description of NP molecules, along with Raw Data Sharing? (Chose/fill all that apply)
*
Very well, it will foster the importance of accurate structural description
I don't know, I am afraid there won't be a lot of impact or a large readership
It will help to centralize both structural description, metadata, and raw spectral data
Good idea, it is time to develop new means of scientific publishing
Not very much, there are too many choices already
Very much if it was open access, free, and high quality
Other:
Required
Who should take the lead in developing guidance on Raw Data Sharing in NP Research? (Chose/fill all that apply)
*
The GA
The ASP
Publishers
Governmental entities
Universities
A group of professional societies
A group of NP scientists
Nobody, it should be self-guided without oversight by others
