Fiery History: How Fire Forged Community
How did threats posed by fire forge community in early America? And how did Newtonians respond? Explore the role of volunteer fire companies, read personal accounts that highlight the ubiquity of fire in the 1800s (including the Great Boston Fire of 1872), and examine artifacts from fire buckets to photographs to learn more about fire culture and the people and tools that helped protect the community. The program takes place Thursday, March 18 at 5 p.m.

Suggested donation: $5.00 for members, $10.00 for non-members. Donations may be made here: https://www.newtonma.gov/hndonate
