SciComm5: Social Media - Using Social Media Platforms to Communicate Science, Feb 21, 12pm-2pm
Are you intimidated by the thought of using social media to talk about your science? Or even confused by how to use social media in general? Join our speaker Ian McLaughlin (@anthropoid), Twitter Scientist, Periscope host, and host of the podcast Wired to be Weird, as he discusses tips and tricks for using social media within the scientific community and with the public. The workshop will focus on getting the most utility out of social media platforms to interact with fellow scientists and the public by making your posts more effective and boosting engagement. In-class and take-home exercises will help you learn from examples of successful scientific accounts (both institutional and personal) and design your own high engagement posts on the platform of your choice.

Food will be served! Please indicate if you would like to attend the workshop on Feb 21st in BRB 252 (Biomedical Research Building II/III) at 421 Curie Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104.

Please note: Attendance is extremely limited and all attendees must confirm that they can fill the seat they have reserved.
