25x20 Voluntary Energy Benchmarking Pledge

The signatory organizations of the St. Louis High Performance Building Initiative are challenging buildings to benchmark building energy use, aiming for a 25% reduction in building energy consumption by the year 2020. Using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, a free on-line software tool developed by U.S. EPA, you can measure progress for your building, and we can measure progress to our goal of 25% energy reduction by 2020! Learn more about the 25 x 20 Energy Benchmarking Campaign at www.25x20.org.

WHAT IS BENCHMARKING? It's measuring how much energy a building consumes and comparing this to other buildings.

WHY BENCHMARK? According, to ENERGY STAR data, buildings who benchmark for three years saw an average energy savings of 7%. You can't manage what you don't measure!

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED? Take this 25 x 20 Benchmarking Pledge and we'll email you a badge you can use to promote your participation in the 25 x 20 Voluntary Energy Benchmarking Campaign. You'll have until the end of of the current year to benchmark your building in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager using the previous year's energy data as a baseline. Then report back to us through our reporting form in ENERGY STAR, which we will also share by e-mail.
