Application for Authors' Panels

What is an Authors’ Panel?

Four to five authors will be on a panel and each will be given 7-10 minutes to talk about his/her book. Authors may choose to talk about the major themes in the book, the book’s contribution to Filipino studies, etc. Discussion will then be opened up to the audience. Panels will be organized by topics (e.g. Education, psychology, …).

Who can apply?

FANHS is seeking authors who have published a book within the last five years that either directly or indirectly addresses Filipino American experiences, history, etc. and has not yet been presented at a FANHS conference. We hope the panels cover a broad range of topics, so all authors, e.g. children’s book writers, social science researchers, etc., are encouraged to apply.

Authors accepted to an Authors’ Panel must pre-register for the conference by January 31, 2016 and be present for his/her panel. If authors do not register by this date, he/she may be dropped from the program.

Applications must be submitted by December 15, 2015.
