Application for the IGTI SAC Travel Award (SACTA) 2021
ASME IGTI's Student Advisory Committee (SAC) represents the interest of the students who attend Turbo Expo and serve as a student-specific liaison to the IGTI board. The committee engages students by creating student-oriented programs at ASME Turbo Expo such as poster presentation, tutorial sessions and activities that facilitate student interaction and networking with turbomachinery professionals. The SAC is pleased to announce that 20 Student Advisory Committee Travel Awards (SACTA) have been made available for students in 2021, with priority given to students who both participate in the conference and actively contribute to the growth of the SAC. The award will consist of a complimentary technical conference registration to attend the 2021 Virtual Turbo-Expo in June.

To apply for the Student Advisory Committee (SAC) travel award, please complete the following application by January 15, 2021. All applicants will be notified of the decision on their application by February 1, 2021. Feel free to email us at with any questions or concerns.

Eligibility/ Expectations:

Preference will be given to students who have previously worked and/or have applied to work as student liaison for Turbo-Expo 2021. The applicant must agree to participate in the SAC Annual Meeting during the virtual Turbo Expo 2021 and be willing to help the SAC leadership team to review student posters. Communication with the SAC leadership team may be requested prior to, during, and following Turbo Expo 2021.

*Travel award recipients will be exempt from participating in the SAC annual meeting if they are student liaisons to a technical committee whose annual meeting conflicts with the SAC’s annual meeting.
