Thank you for your interest in the Philadelphia Trans Oral History Project! We are a small team lead by a partnership between the Center for Research in Feminist, Queer, and Transgender Studies, the William Way LGBT Center and , and the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts at the University of Pennsylvania.
In this form you can sign up to be interviewed and/or volunteer with the project!
The timeline for being contacted to be interviewed varies based on our capacity. We welcome anyone interested to apply but especially encourage those over the age of 30. Interviews will be prioritized based on age and collection. Collection topics we are currently working on are Morris Home, Riders Against Gender Exclusion (RAGE), Trans Wellness Conference, Bob and Barbara's, and Hearts on a Wire. If you have experience with any of these groups, collectives, or orgs please mention this in the form in the last question.
Volunteers: You will be added to a listserv that will share information for any upcoming meetings, trainings, and events we may be tabling at. We try to meet monthly or bimonthly. No prior experience is needed to volunteer with us. We offer a 3-hour volunteer training for anyone that wants to be a part of interviewing narrators or archiving and transcribing interviews.
