The mission of the Kevin Rohan Memorial Eco Foundation (KRMEF) is to foster health and well-being in Nepal's most impoverished communities by encouraging sustainable change through environmentally-friendly programs.
Since 2010, KRMEF has hosted interns ranging in age, ability, interests, and skill sets from nearly 50 countries. Interns remain a vital component to the overall function of the Foundation's many programs. KRMEF is seeking a long-term intern (5 months or more) to teach English to the women employed by KRMEF. The responsibilities of this internship are as follows:
-Conduct weekly lessons for the women involved in KRMEF's various programs, particularly participants of the Mahila Shakti Handicrafts Workshop (These participants interact with Westerners at handicraft markets, so conversational English and a knowledge of key phrases to use in relation to the handicrafts workshop is the ideal outcome).
-Manage the short-term volunteers interested in helping with these projects.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
-TEFL Certification is required
-Upbeat and positive attitude.
-Dedication to furthering KRMEF's mission.
-Ability to work well with a diverse staff and volunteer base.
-Experience living abroad.
-Proficiency in various social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
