HOPE’s Food Justice Summer School will take place from June 2018 – August 2018. The time commitment is approximately 12 hours per month. Participants will receive a $400 stipend.
Eligibility Criteria -Resident of Oakland’s flatlands -Basic knowledge of the Collaborative’s work -Demonstrated commitment to HOPE Collaborative Mission and Vision -Established leadership within HOPE Collaborative or similar social justice organization -Regular participation in HOPE’s meetings/activities or with a similar social justice organization -Demonstrated follow-through and capacity to make this commitment
Application Process and Timeline -If you are interested, please fill out a HOPE Leadership Institute application. 10-15 applicants will be accepted -Completed applications due by May 4, 2018. -Applications will be reviewed May 8, 2018 -Accepted applicants will be notified via email or phone by May 11, 2018 -Applicants will confirm their participation by May 18, 2018 -Accepted applicants will fill out and submit all required paperwork for participation by May 25, 2018 -There will be a waiting list with attention paid to demographics (racial, age, gender, geographic diversity).
