VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Arroyo Hondo Preserve Docents* - Learn from experts about the natural and cultural history of Arroyo Hondo Preserve and share what you learn with children and other visitors to the preserve. Docents lead school group hikes and nature activities every Monday and Wednesday mornings during the school year. Docents also lead public hikes two Saturdays each month as a part of our open access weekends.
*Docent Training: Eight mandatory trainings including natural history lessons hosted at the preserve every Wednesday 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm starting with February 7th and ending on March 27th.
Land Trust Treks** - Help lead or support guided hikes and outdoor experiences for the community to explore Santa Barbara County's spectacular open spaces and trails. Join us as an ambassador to the outdoors!
**Land Trust Treks Training: Two mandatory training sessions that we will host virtually and in-person; evening and weekend dates TBD. Option to sit in on scheduled AHP Docent natural history lessons.
Trail maintenance & habitat restoration - Volunteer workdays regularly take place at Arroyo Hondo Preserve the first Saturday of every month, weather-permitting, and are occasionally hosted at other Land Trust properties. Join the list and get your hands dirty!
