Choose one or all volunteer activities below you are interested in. Please note that we ask for a minimum commitment of one year from our program volunteers.

*Our offices are open M-F so weekend volunteer opportunities are limited

Learning Center
The Learning Center provides children ages 3-12 a quality education founded upon high academics and Christian character development.
Assisting staff in pickup and drop-off of students from school M-F 2:30-4:00pm
Read/do crafts with the kids M-F 8:00am-noon or 3-5pm
Homework assistance M-F 3:30-5pm
Babysitting last Wednesday of each month 6-8pm
Still Waters Housing
Our Still Waters Housing program includes three homes for single women. Chayah House serves women being restored from homelessness, addictions, and abuse. Treasure House serves single moms with young children. Esther House serves women escaping the sex-trade industry.

The below includes volunteer opportunities for Treasure House, Chayah House, and Esther House.

Prepare and deliver a meal (that can be frozen for throughout the week) for Still Waters Housing residents- enough to feed 7 M-Th: Evenings, exact time TBD
Babysitting Tuesday 6:45-8:15pm *background check required
Weekend Duty: assisting staff on the weekends with various house tasks
Weekly volunteer: assisting staff during the weekdays with various house tasks
Family Room
The Family Room provides a hospitable space for people to rest and access our resources.

M-F 7am-5:30pm

Assist staff at front desk
Assist staff in running the Door Stop Coffee Kiosk
Befriend and Pray with our Family Room Visitors
Family Room Host/Hostess (greet friends, keep room clean and tidy, etc.)
Donation Processing (clothing, hygiene, food, etc.)
Youth
The Youth Center is a place for urban youth to belong and flourish through Bible studies, activities, and one-on-one relationships.
Mentor: Become a mentor to one of our Open Door Youth! This requires a one-year commitment to meet ~once a week. Times are scheduled according to both the mentor and mentee's schedule.
After-school Volunteer: Assist staff once a week between 2:30-6pm M-F
Women's Homelessness Initiative (WHI) Overnight Volunteer
Each week 20 women eat dinner at The Table and then are welcomed into the sanctuary at Open Door Fellowship where they spend the night. Overnight volunteers ensure a safe and welcoming environment for women and provide a refuge from the harsh street environment.

Open Door to Success
Open Door to Success is an employment training program teaching Christian work principles and holistically empowering people to move into the marketplace.

The below volunteer needs are on an "on-call" basis and are only available when the need arises.

Assist in performing mock interviews
Assist with resume writing
GED tutor
TRYAD
TRYAD (To Reconcile You Able-bodied And Disabled) reaches disabled individuals through needed compassion and evangelism.
Relational volunteer to attend and participate in Bible studies and to assist staff where needed- Tuesday afternoons
Assist staff/participants on field trips and retreats (2 retreats every year: 1 in spring/summer, 1 in the fall)
Lead the Bible study on a Tuesday afternoon
Become a Faith Partnership Program mentor to one of our TRYAD participants
Need volunteer(s) to prepare and bring down lunch every 4th Tuesday of each month from 11:30am-1:30pm
Help with running errands throughout the week- groceries, store runs, etc.
Drive TRYAD members to church on Sundays
Photography for TRYAD events
Male volunteers to help on Tuesdays- teaching, assisting, etc.
Cornerstone Home
Cornerstone is a long-term home for disabled men. Residents are taught to live life as a team, learning to help one another in day-to-day life. This allows them to contribute to the needs of others and subsequently, it affirms their dignity and lets them discover their importance.
Group of men to come and host dinner and Bible study at Cornerstone once a month
Outreach
Help pass out lunches and pray for homeless people: Noon-1pm on the first Tuesday of each month. Meet at the Einstein’s Bagels near the corner of 16th St. & California in downtown Denver.
Befriend and pray with individuals who visit our Family Room
General Opportunities
Physical: cleaning, gardening, painting, etc. at one of our nine properties
Skilled work: construction, plumbing, electrical work, etc.
