The New York Association of School Psychologists is preparing for the 2018 conference and we are now accepting paper submissions. This year's conference will be held at the Conference Center in Lake Placid, NY on October 18-20, 2018. The theme of the 2018 NYASP conference is Mountain Therapy: Rejuvenating our Practices and Ourselves.
We will be discussing topics including educational equity, diversity and cultural responsiveness, restorative practices, social/emotional health and well-being, bullying, trauma and crisis intervention, assessment, preschool issues and interventions, ethics and legal issues with an emphasis on changing and emergent trends in each domain. We are soliciting papers from our membership that would reflect the theme and goals of the conference.
Priority will be given to proposals that align with the theme for this conference. Be sure to indicate whether your submission is intended for a presentation or poster.
Include a summary of your proposal (≤1000 words). Your summary should include:*An overview of your presentation/poster*Please note whether you plan to present a paper or poster*A brief review of how the information is new and relevant to the field*Expected learner outcomes including the goal(s) and objective(s) of your presentation*References for your citations*Please use APA format for all submitted materials
Include a brief (less than 100 words) abstract of your presentation/poster to be included in the conference program.
Proposed submissions must be received by June 1, 2018. Maximum of 2 proposals per lead presenter. As we are a green organization, we will only accept electronic submissions. All questions should be directed to the Conference Committee Co-chairs (Eliane Keyes/Chris Van Houten at firstname.lastname@example.org). Please note all submissions will be blinded prior to review. Presenters will be notified of acceptance no later than mid-August 2018.
Please note that If your proposal is selected all presenters will be expected to register and pay the registration fee for either the full conference or for the day on which you will present.
