CIAN Travel Grant

The Center for Integrated Access Networks (CIAN) awards travel grants for graduate, undergraduate, and postdoctoral researchers who are visiting a CIAN partner school to initiate, develop, or continue work on a collaborative project. Travel Grants may be used for international travel to CIAN international partners.

Submission Deadlines
Applications are continually being reviewed; submissions are accepted at any time.

Eligibility
A position (President, Vice President, or Treasurer) in CIAN's Student Leadership Council (SLC) at your host university.
CIAN students and postdocs are eligible for 1 Travel Grant per year. If it has been 1 year since your last award, please apply again.

Selection Criteria
Travel Grant reviewers especially appreciate and give due weight to thoughtful, focused student statements. The student statement should be understandable to graduate students from any CIAN Research Thrust.

Range of support
The committee will award up to $1000 per student for national travel and up to $2000 for international travel, even though the travel cost may exceed that amount. If the total cost of the trip goes over the allotted amount for the grant that amount must be covered by other means.

Notification of Awards
The process of award determination generally takes one month. You are welcome to contact the Education Director with inquiries. Contact, Dr. Allison Huff, allison@optics.arizona.edu

Additional Requirements
Travel must be completed within 1 year of the date of application.
