General Application: 2020/21 MTAA Super Solar Racing
MTAA Super Solar Racing (previously MTAA Super Sol Invictus) is a student led project which provides students from all disciplines to be part of designing, building and racing a solar powered race vehicle. The team competes in the internationally recognised Bridgestone World Solar Challenge every two years. This race involves over 50 different teams from 25 different countries. Our team is made up of a business team and technical team, both of which have a similar number of students, and both of which hold significant importance in the culture of the team. The business team is responsible for accruing funding from industry sponsors, marketing and branding strategies for the team, and hosting of promotional and funding events, often holding upwards of 100 people. The business team has sub-teams of Sponsorship, Events and Marketing. The technical team is split into Electrical and Mechanical sub-teams both of which are responsible for working collaboratively on the design, build and testing of the car. The technical teams responsibilities include using CAD modelling, CFD, FEA, aerodynamic knowledge, software analysis, lightweight vehicle technology and photovoltaic concepts to design and build a safe car with a competitive edge.
We as a team identify as a group of students that love to learn and love to have fun. The culture that permeates through this project is one of respect, and of a damn good time. Please apply below to join the project for the next two years.
Please note that these applications close on the 2nd of March, and that we strive to make our application process gender neutral - please try to steer clear of using gender references in your answers, and make sure your Uni ID is correct!
