Friends of Otter Rock is a non-profit organization on the central Oregon coast composed of local conservation-minded citizens. Our mission is the protection and preservation of rocky shore intertidal life, nesting and migrating sea birds, and marine mammals.

This summer, we will be delivering our first-ever volunteer interpretive program! As a volunteer, you will interact with visitors on the ground, inspiring stewardship and raising awareness of Otter Rock Marine Reserve. Over the course of this training session, we will teach you about our local wildlife, geology, and history, and equip you with interpretive techniques to connect with visitors.

For the first part of the day, we will be walking around Otter Rock Marine Reserve (some tide pooling will be involved). The second part of the day will be indoors. Masks are required for the indoor session.

This program will run from mid-June through early September. Volunteers should aim to commit to at least one 2-hour time slot each weekend. Time slots range between 9am - 5pm on weekend days.
