Fierce Flix Registration 2024
CAMP IS FULL FOR THE 2024 CAMP YEAR! If you still want to apply for camp, fill out this application, and we will add you to the waitlist, and email you if any spots open up. Thank you for your interest in Fierce Flix Camp!

Who Is Eligible to Attend Camp?
Camp supports youth (ages 8-16) who's identities align with underrepresented voices in cinema.
This includes gender expansive, LGBTQIA+, and femme youth, as well as youth of the global majority (Black, Indigenous, People of Color).

Dates and Location
- Camp will take place from 9:00am-4:00pm June 17-21, 2024 (Monday to Friday.)
- All participants in the camp will present their work at a public screening Friday after camp.
- Camp location: Warren Wilson College, 701 Warren Wilson Road, Swannanoa, North Carolina.

What Do Campers Learn At Camp?
Participants will form teams, storyboard, direct, shoot, and edit an original music video for a local band, and screen their videos in a showcase at the end of the week.

Each day, campers will film with their film team, attend filmmaking instruction workshops, have mini-screenings with filmmakers, and participate in self care, social justice, and creativity workshops.

Throughout the week, campers are urged to work together as a team, build confidence in each other, and foster each other's unique abilities through peer encouragement.

Campers will learn:
-to support each other and work collaboratively
-to use cameras and editing equipment to make music videos (media literacy is cool!)
-to think about equity and how they might use filmmaking to create a more just world
-to be in community with a diverse group of people who also share their identities
-to be supported in taking creative risks and being vulnerable in their creativity with their peers

Does My Camper Need To Bring Equipment To Camp?

How did you hear about Fierce Flix Camp? *
Fierce Flix summer camp is a volunteer-operated, non-profit organization powered by fundraisers and donations from our community.

These contributions help us acquire the resources we need to enrich our camp and provide campers with supplies, equipment, a place to film, and a hands-on, participatory and supportive film making experience!

Our suggested tuition for the week-long camp is $200 per camper, but we are proud to offer full and partial sponsorships. Registration is strictly first-come, first-serve and your family’s ability to pay will not affect your child’s chance of acceptance to camp. If you are able to pay any amount over the suggested fee, it will go towards sponsoring other campers.
Will your camper need financial sponsorship? *
If you checked "partial sponsorship" or "is able to sponsor another camper" above, please write in the amount you will be paying:
The camp day will be from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday. If necessary, campers can be dropped off no earlier than 8:30 am, and picked up no later than 4:30 pm.
