Recycle Regatta Application
In honor of World Oceans Day, Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful is hosting it's Annual Recycle Regatta. The Recycle Regatta challenges participants to construct a watercraft from at least 70% recycled materials. Teams will launch from Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park Boat Ramp and paddle across a 50-yard course on the Hillsborough River providing a hilarious competition for the spectators to enjoy. This head to head race will be a competition between high school groups, colleges and corporations. Winners of each regatta will receive bragging rights and other prizes. The winning high school group will also receive the “travelling oar” to be kept at their school for the remainder of the current school year. This will be done through techniques such as upcycling and repurposing while learning about the "Three R's" to waste management (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
