District 5 Potential Homeless Shelter Locations
The Mayor has asked each Council Member to identify locations for either a shelter or efficiency/tiny homes for 100 individuals experiencing homelessness. This space for 100 people could be created out of multiple smaller locations (no smaller than 25 beds) or one large location. With all 8 Council Districts, housing 100 people each, for a 6-month period, we would be able to support 1,600 people a year and provide the potential to seriously address our homeless crisis.

Those persons who will be using these shelters will be brought in on a referral basis only, not walk-up. Impacts to adjacent neighborhoods will be similar to that of the North area shelter, and a FAQ sheet for that shelter can be found here

District 5 has limited location possibilities, and we need your help. Please take a moment to fill out the following survey.

This survey is only our first step on our journey to address homelessness - we will be hosting community conversations on this important topic at the start of the year. If you would like to participate, please submit your email to ensure you receive updates.
